Ohio Advocates for Mental Health, formed as WE CARE Network, Inc. in 1984, has been advocating with and for Ohioans diagnosed with serious mental illnesses for more than a quarter century.

We are managed by a Board of Directors of 18 members.  Fifteen of those members must have been diagnosed with and treated for a mental illness.  Our staff and Board  have all either been treated for a mental illness, or had a family member in treatment, or both.

Our belief is that people with mental illness can, and do recovery, and can continue to be productive members of the community, contrary to the media stereotype of psychopathic killers or comic figures.
